3D Printers

Postby Bacokatt » Thu Dec 04, 2014 2:00 am

I am building a 3D printer and with that I can make parts for my car and for my guns and for my computers and all facets of my lifestyle.

Do any of you guys have or use 3d printers? How would you use them?
I guess let's just discuss the 3d printers!

My school has a 3D printer, but it's broken.
I think that I would 3D print a small TARDIS. The model seems like it wouldn't be all that hard to make so I could probably do it.
Oh and pokeballs. I would 3d print so many pokeballs.

Build your own, always build your own. You can buy a 3d printer from makerbot for 24,500 kr you have to google how many dollars I'm too lazy but you can just build one for less than 700 kr easily. And that makerbitch printer has a shitty filament feed system and a shitty extruder, AMD it will need to be calibrated just as much as a home built one because they're all similiar, and the reason is makerbitch stole the open source design, then copyrighted it and jacked the price way up, so, it's just prebuilt open source but with their own design extruder and stff, which made it shitty. And their build plate sucks. And makerbitch won't print with abs plastic, only the cheap filaments can be used that are weak to heat.

Makerbot is dildos.

If I made mine big enough, I would 3d print the main body and neck of a Gibson explorer and various parts, then buy high quality pickups, strings, and tuners and have a printed explorer. Maybe even order a fretboard and attach a real fretboard to the printed neck. :3

I don't know. I've never used one so I'm unclear on the range of possibilities.
I'd probably end up with a lot of useless shit that I thought was cute and/or funny and printed on a whim.

There is nothing wrong with that.
It doesn't have to be anything functional.

3D printer? Omg, I'd print so much stuff. Have you all ever seen the ones that print sugar? This is what they can make

I wouldn't call them sugar CUBES. They're more like sugar forms. Since there are more shapes than cubes. But I think they're pretty neat.

I don't know how 3d printers work exactly but i imagine they are pretty sensitive so some things may cause stops and stuff.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe, but I mean, sugar is a pretty weird thing to print, so I don't THINK any additives would cause trouble.

Wonder if one can print different textures of sugar?
