Sad realization how I'd react to an intruder

Postby Banni » Wed Feb 04, 2015 1:56 pm

I stepped out of my room to take a dirty bowl down to the kitchen
Didn't realize my brother in-law came home, and he had shaved off his beard and his long hair was buzzed super short.
I have NEVER EVER seen him without his long hair. I've only seen him without a beard once I think.
So I seriously didn't recognize him. I thought he was an intruder.

I stopped in the hallway, bowl in both hands, and stared at him as he poked out from the bathroom.
Started to ask him
"Why are you in my bathroom?"

Only half muttered "wh--" before realizing it was him though and blurted "YOU CUT HAIR... it's weird." and continued along my way.

is that seriously how I would react to an intruder? All I would do is just ask them of their business like they're innocent or something
I don't think I had any subconscious thoughts of who it actually was

also hi I'm new yall dont know me but I like to post random things ♥

Well, no one ever truly knows how they would react to a situation of an intruder in the house... But you might not be the only one who would ask a question like that first xD

Yeah I dunno
I think it's cause it would be more confusing, being a person super out of place and unexpected
just kind of stops you in your tracks
stops any thought process you had and it's just like

what

are you

Hah, this was great!

Maybe your brain recognized his features, and in a way you subconsciously knew it was him? That's all I can think of. Otherwise, you may just secretly be a Canadian. Lol!

Haha, that's pretty funny. It would be very funny though if he actually ended up as an intruder. I've had people poke around outside my house before and the last time I heard someone whistling and tapping on the window. I picked up my boyfriend's mace went to the front door and yelled out "I have three dogs who will back me up and I have mace that I'm not afraid to use".

Oh gosh- I actually had that happen once! Except they didn't whistle or tap on the window. I was sitting in my basement lounging around on my bed playing Xbox at the time, and all of a sudden I looked up and saw a face in my window. Which.. Is ground floor, and you have to walk to the side/back of the house. So it freaked the crap outta me! I ran to the front and saw someone walking away who looked back, so I didn't pursue it. Just got a curtain after that, lol.

Haha gosh it was better when his wife, my sis, came home from work and we were all at the dinner table
he greeted her all excited and enthusiastic
she was tired as well as even SHE never saw him with short hair before
she automatically assumed it was a new person, probably our little sister's new bf, and so she looked right past him to give something to dad first, figuring she'd greet the new kid after
stopped
shook her head and freaked out xD

at least I recognized him as an ADULT
his wife thought he was 14 lmao (he's 35)
