So, Ryvvi said in Australia they don't really celebrate Halloween?! So it got me thinking what countries do or do not celebrate....

Do you still like to dress up for Halloween?

Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? When? What are your traditions?

I think most countries don't
And that don't ranges from not at all to extremely low-key

We haven't done anything in years because once the youngest in the family hits a certain age, we're done

Australia has F1 races! But do you mean that or kangaroo races, Ryvvi? Or....?

WELL OK
We have the Melbourne Cup, which is a pretty big (in australia) international horse race day, like even the schools get involved and we'd spend half our day at school sitting around making bets and watching it xD but the country town i used to live in also had May Races which was apparently a really big horse jumps race, which our school was given off because we were opposite the race tracks and people would wag to go watch the races/ or get drunk. THEN we also had the speedway which was big (it was a very country town xD) which was also an excuse to drink.
basically we take as much time of to drink as we can.

Horse races... didn't think about that one... but I think you have international sailing races there too...

we've got a really big one in sydney that i know of, but you never hear as much about the sailing
the races get a lot of attention because all the girls go nuts over the fashion (im pretty sure a fashion week is timed to coincide with the cup?) and almost everyone goes to bet
We have two really famous horses that we're very proud of! one is called black caviar, the most recent one but the older horse is called pharlap who was stuffed and placed in the melbourne museum xD
there are a bunch with ridiculous names as well though~ i think all horse racing does that for some reason

I've noticed that a lot of horse names are some sort of combo of the parents
Like if you had a sire of Cucumber and a dam of Vinegar, the kid will likely be named Pickle
