Yup, that's my schtick. General theme I'm thinking of sticking with is black hair and darker clothes. With something light to contrast.

I also try to balance out the light and dark. Lots of dark hair? Add in dark shoes. Dark on top, dark on bottom... Light on top, maybe dark on bottom or light on bottom. If I want to emphasize something, then make everything dark except what it is I want to emphasize.

So Previous Kyndreth avatar with blue eyes and blue scarf? emphasizes the face. Everything else is dark, so the light draws the eye to where I want it to focus stuff like that.

That's a lot if theory behind just one avi!
If you'll look at shiro's valentines avi in her closet thread, its kinda like that..there's a theme for colour, its very warm, but still many hues that its not glaringly obvious.

I mean, it's kinda intuitive too. Just mentioning a bit of color theory though to make it a little clearer.
