They still taste like regular cookies ^_^
That must be why it works on the cookies. Most cookies are made with brown sugar. I loooove my cookies soft. Unless I plan on dipping them in milk. The crunchy cookies are best for that. ;D

we've done experiments with sand/salt/water in my science class last year.
We mixed it all together and the goal was to "unmix" the solution.
We filtered the water through a coffee filter and boiled it to separate the salt from the water. I suppose if you could trap the evaporated water and condense it, it would be safe to drink.. Haha

In California they recommend you have fill big barrels with earthquake preparedness items... but it's too difficult to put all the necessary luxuries in one so I'll just hope if my house collapses that I can still get to stuff...like toilet paper, blankets, my pillows...feminine hygiene products (because girls...)...how did they manage in the pioneer days!?

Check out which brands on the below link to the nestle recall because of small pieces of glass founds in the frozen meals:

http://www.nestleusa.com/media/pressrel ... ary-recall

[+] SPOILER
Nestlé USA Announces Voluntary Recall of a Limited Number of DiGiorno® Pizzas, Lean Cuisine® and Stouffer’s® Products Due to the Potential Presence of Foreign Material

DiGiorno pizzeria Tuscan-style Chicken Pizza

No injuries have been reported. We are recalling these products because they may contain small pieces of glass that may cause injury. Although our investigation is ongoing, we believe the source of the glass is spinach that was an ingredient common to the products subject to this recall. Nestlé USA is taking this action out of an abundance of caution after several consumers reported that they had found small pieces of glass in some of these products.

Consumers who may have purchased the products listed above should not consume them but should instead contact Nestlé Consumer Services at 1-800-681-1676.

Nestlé is voluntarily recalling three million frozen food products due to the "potential presence of glass pieces," it announced yesterday. The company noted that "several consumers reported that they had found small pieces of glass" in some of its spinach-based products.

I tend not to buy products from companies that put out stuff outside of their core business.

Nestle makes chocolate = core product
Nestle hot cocoa = OK (watered down to chocolate)
Nestle bottled water = OK (water is used to make chocolate and hot cocoa)
Nestle meat and vegetable products = WTF? Run for your life!

Seems like you might be on to something Galled... I think Nestle made/makes canned milk as well. Which of course all centers around chocolate milk/hot cocoa...
oh! And COOKIES!! (which of course goes with chocolate milk and hot cocoa)

Here's another recall:

California Pistachios Recalled After Salmonella Infects 11: WONDERFUL> PARAMOUNT FARMS>Trader Joe's

[+] SPOILER
A California pistachio producer has recalled some of its pistachios after the nuts were linked to a strain of Salmonella that made 11 people ill in nine U.S. states between December and February, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

The producer, Wonderful Pistachios, said the recall is voluntary. The nuts were sold throughout the United States and Canada under the brand names Wonderful, Paramount Farms and Trader Joe's.

The CDC advised consumers not to eat any recalled pistachios that might be in their homes. The lot codes of the recalled products are available on the Wonderful Pistachios website.

Infections caused by the strain Salmonella Montevideo were reported in 11 people between Dec. 12 and Feb. 9. Two people were hospitalized; no deaths were reported, the CDC said.

There were cases in Washington, Arizona, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Virginia, Connecticut, Georgia and Alabama, the CDC said.

A number of the infected people reported having eaten Wonderful brand pistachios, and the CDC found the outbreak strain of Salmonella in raw pistachios at Paramount Farms, where Wonderful pistachios are grown.

Salmonella, a bacterial infection that causes vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever, is most commonly found in raw or undercooked meat, poultry and eggs.

Spinach seems to be a popular recall fresh vegetable...usually ecoli but this time it was for frozen and had glass

Now I hear Bumble Bee tuna has a recall.

I guess it is a big loss for all aspects of the businesses when food is recalled, especially when people bring things back just to be safe.

Thanks for the warning. We have Bumble Bee tuna but none of it matches the listed product codes.

Recalls are unfortunate, especially when it could cause serious harm.
