Friday! I have direct deposit so that I don'r have to wait for my paycheck, or wait to deposit it.

I'm just hungry for food but got nothing healthy in the house to munch on.

Do Americans get actual cheques when getting paid? In Britain your wage is always paid into your bank account by your employer.

You have to opt in for direct deposit here, otherwise you are paid by check. But I think paying bills by check is becoming less frequent, most pay online and receive statements online. Actually, I don't recall when I last made a trip to the bank.

Huh, I had no idea. Sounds like a pain to be paid by cheque (it's interesting how that word is spelt differently in American and British English).

I think it's been a good few years since I've seen a cheque. We're pretty much all online these days. It's been a year since I went into one. That was only to show them a physical copy of one of my documents. Banks are slowly becoming online only. There's a couple of new ones that don't have any branches.

I still get paid by checks for consulting work. It's certainly nice to be able to deposit them via my phone and not have to go in and stand in line (drive there and park, etc.). I think a goal in life for me will be to never have to leave my house unless I want to and online banking gets me partway there! LOL

It's spelled check or cheque here but more often check. Cheque actually comes up in the spellchecker as not correct which is weird.
