lol Kit, I'm getting a little disturbed by everyone flinging the "F" word around so prevelently lately. It's a word I only use if I get extremely upset and I don't like hearing it - to me its crass and there are so many other alternatives - so its starting to make me not want to read threads because when I read I'm saying it in my head. I may just start hanging out in the game threads or mine only.

I used to be pretty big on swearing-- I staved it off with "ffffFFFFLAPJACKS WITH CARAMEL APPLE SAUCE GOD IM HUNGRY AND MAD WHY DID YOU DIE" and "shiiiitake mushrooms sound really good right about now"
during calls or streams, id pretty much end up making myself hungry.

i agree with lemon that swearing is crass, but i honestly dont mind it. if anything, its very amusing.

I blame manga for my acquisition of cursing. I read it in manga and picked it up, pretty much.

Staving it off is pretty much impossible for me long term. I can manage for a while, but it's habit. It's going to slip out the moment I forget to stay conscious of it. Plus, it's just sooo many more letters to come up with alternatives! ANd it don't sound right when you use replacement words sometimes. And sometimes using replacement words that are synonyms don't help at all. For example Sacred Holy Illusion Trident sure as hallelujah sounds better and less gross to me than yelling feces or excrement. Doodoo doesn't pack the same punch.

Swearing's just second nature to me. I don't think much of it generally.

F words means sex. So yelling the f-word is pretty much the same as yelling sex! S word means poop. Yelling it is like yelling poop. Why is it a bad word? I dunno? Because it's got negative shade? B word? Female Dog. Damn? Short for condemn I think. I just don't get it.

I guess the answer must be context. Oh, and people saying it's a bad word.
