It’s from a magazine I occasionally buy. It originally was from a cookbook of Japanese cuisine!

I've got to figure out what to buy for Thanksgiving dinner...a small whole turkey or a turkey breast...the thing is...the whole turkey costs a lot less!

If you went for a whole turkey, you could probably put any left overs in a hot pot or something.

I ended up getting just the breast...I do like to make soup but am working extra so won't have the time to make it...plus it takes up a lot of room in the fridge. I mainly like the sides anyway...mmm cranberry sauce...mashed potato and gravy...mashed sweet potato...green beans and garlic...I'm getting hungry thinking about it!

What are your favorite sides for the holiday dinners?

I love cranberry sauce, carrot and turnip mash and Yorkshire Puddings. The sides are the best part of the meal. :)

I wish my family liked to eat carrot and turnip mash...I'd get to eat it more often...not that turnips agree with me very well...but I still like them even though they don't like me.

<everything in moderation..but some foods I just HAVE to avoid>

Carrot and turnip is such a nice comfort food. It must be so annoying that you have to avoid certain foods. Happy Thanksgiving. :)

The root vegetables seem to be more prevalent in places where the temperature drops in winter...I don't notice them promoted or sold in any abundance ( you have to search them out) in our warmer areas.

But I do like mixing my root veggies and I prefer them mashed with lots of butter!

Yeah! And a bit farther is the library

I used to walk to the library on weekends and sometimes get dairy queen on the way back

It was quite fun

Actually, those were the days I went to the library partially so I could come on here using a computer that wasn't mine!
