When you mention one thing and someone makes an assumption and throws a rant

When you ask a question and they literally pull shit out of their ass to try and make you look bad (the original post they made summarized as "marriage is an outdated form of control" and by asking that (along with a few others commenting), OP went into a royal hissy fit and pulled gay marriage out of literally nowhere)

Condescending people
Someone called me mentally retarded and then later posted pretty much "you're still mentally retarded but not as much as I first though so let's be friends" and the whole tone was "I'm better than your dumb ass"

I didn't reply to either of them. The one pulling shit outta nowhere because they very obviously wanted an argument, the condescending one for being condescending. Fuck that shit

Okay, but Pet Peeve-

When people aren't mindful of other people's time.

Example- My husband was a groomsman in a wedding. They had the rehearsal dinner on Friday and everyone was required to be there at 4:30. They literally sat around and did nothing until 6 because several of the other people in the party hadn't shown up yet. The point was to rehearse and set up the venue. It was a 2 hour drive there and back for my husband and several others. The next day, they had to get there at 11am for pictures before the event. Same exact thing! They didn't even get to take pictures until after the wedding because of it. The wedding started at 2:30.

You wouldn't believe how many people doesn't know the difference between heated and toasted. They think it's the same thing and say yes. But I say OR, not AND! URGH!

Classmate: -doesn't respond, keeps hand up-
Professor: -clearly getting irritated- Yes, how may I help you?
Classmate: -still doesn't respond, clearly just wasting time now-
Professor: -very irritated- Don't raise your hand unless you have a question.
Classmate: I'd like to be formally acknowledged of having my hand up by you saying my name so that I know you were talking to me (despite the fact he was the only one with his hand up)
Professor: You need to stop with the condescending tone and just answer when I ask for you to ask your question or else I'm going to have to ask you to leave.
Classmate: -finally asks his question-

(Totally not the exact conversation due to it being held a couple months ago. But I can't stand this kid. I think he has a learning disability or something, but he's still annoying.)

They usually just ask me if I want it toasted. I don't think anyone at subway here has given me a choice. Am I ordering the wrong sandwich? Me: footlong Meatball on wheat with swiss cheese and parmesan- them: toasted? - me: yes.

I dont think ive ever been asked about my sandwich being heated either, but thats probably for the best. Decisions X_X

Technically we're supposed to because toasted isn't the only option, but a lot of times people only ask customers if they want it toasted (as it's the most popular).

Trust me, I wanted to. But I couldn't because it wasn't worth getting in trouble for.

Controversial pet peeve time~

So my school has a policy that if a student threatens to harm themselves, they get their parents called and get picked up from school. This is to make sure they dont end up alone after school and hopefully they'll get the support at home they need. Ive seen this really benefit and do great good for a lot of students! However, I have a handful that will say that just to get sent home. No matter if you suspect that they are just saying it to go home or if they really mean it, you always, always, always refer them to the counselor. I just cant stand that I have individuals that abuse that system. I have almost one a week that gets sent home for that reason whereas I had maybe 3 all year last year. I know that some are abusing the system bc they'll be pretty open about their motive the next day when they come back. I hate it for those that actually need help. :/
