So sorry to hear your troubles. I've known a couple of people who would do their assignments and forget to turn them in! I could never understand that. I know they don't do it on purpose. The only thing I can think of is it isn't important enough to them, but it's probably more complicated than that.
What I've always done (even with non-critical things) is keep a schedule. It doesn't have to be on a calendar (although I have used those with complex projects), but I always use something. I'm currently using a little notepad that I keep on my desk so I see it a couple of times a day. I also use txt files on my computer and phone, but I don't check/see them regularly like my notepad. It's simple, cheap, and it works for me. I hope you can come up with a system that help you too!
