I'm so sorry! A scary time for you and your family...but there are many things they CAN do so hopefully he gets the care he needs.

One friends husband the "widow maker artery" was almost completely closed a few weeks ago and the ER Drs were able to clean things out, put in a stint and he is up and walking around and they were headed to the gym today, so lets keep good thoughts for your Dad too.

100% blockage in an artery, already stinted
He should be fine
Has to give up smoking
Sister in her MercyFlight uniform let us wait in a different waiting room from the usual

We saw him as he moved from one room to another and he was with his usual jokes
Imma take it as a good sign

they will probably want him to be very careful with diet and exercise etc from now on.

Glad you got to go in and see him, it makes a difference if they can catch things early enough - good thing he recognized the signs. I hope he will be out soon.

Thank goodness! Giving up smoking is never a bad thing. When will he be allowed to go home?

Oh no! That's really scary. Sorry you have to go through that with him.
It's great to hear he's doing better (cracking jokes is a very good sign). We hope he has a speedy recovery!

He's hoping to be discharged tomorrow
Mom doesn't think they discharge on holidays
We'll see
Knowing him, he's also gonna try and get back to work before he's allowed to

Sad to hear that but glad he's ok now. I hope he doesn't push himself, he really needs to let himself recover.

Less salt, he can't add any at all now
Switch to low fat cheese
Less red meat, more fish
Suggested he stop smoking (he is currently down to two a day from a pack a day)
No work for two weeks
Daily walks

Outside that, he doesn't have to change anything
