There's this Kick Starter project where someone is going to make a documentary over overweight people called Fattitude. (I just realized that it was launched in 2014 and is said to release this fall, but still.)
It's the stupidest thing yet.
So, Fattitude is supposed to be about how overweight people get a lot of hate and are discriminated (as if thin people don't and they do. Everyone, sadly, gets discriminated on because people are jerks) against.
Oh, actually, here's the line they start out with:
"Did you know that fat people are paid $1.25 less an hour than their thin counterparts? Or that a fat person who excels can still legally lose a job just because s/he's fat? How about the reality that 1 in 3 doctors associates fat bodies with hostility, dishonesty and poor hygiene?"
Fucking bullshit (sorry about the language.)
I'm overweight, but I make just as much as the thin people in my job. They pulled that out of their ass to get sympathy. They list no sources to their "facts". They're spreading misinformation.
People should not be encouraging people to stay overweight. Like, do you WANT people to suffer health problems? Because if you don't, don't tell people their lifestyle is okay. They continue on an unhealthy lifestyle, they're not going to live a full life into their old age, frankly. Sure, you shouldn't bully an overweight person, but the message they're sending out is that if you want to be fat, go for it!
*scrolls through their FB page*
*sees an article they reposted: Fuck Being Healthy"
See? They're supporting an unhealthy lifestyle. It makes me so mad because I'm overweight, I need to lose weight and I'm sick and tired of not being able to keep up with everyone because I'm not fit. And here these people are, telling people "Fuck being healthy" because they'd rather them suffer health problems like diabetes and heart problems than watching their food, getting exercise, and avoiding health problems.
While people need to eat and not be underweight, people shouldn't eat too much to the point they're overweight.
