Dont judge challenge??

Postby Bassy » Tue Aug 18, 2015 10:46 am

This has went viral the #DontJudgeChallenge. People with no physical imperfection.. flawless, no glasses, skinny, etc.

What do you think this is trying to do? Make people feel better about their insecurities? No.They put markers on their face. I have not seen one person with an ACTUAL insecurity on their face. They may be insecure on the inside, but the challenge is done wrong. No it does not make me feel better about my insecurities. When I first saw the challenge, I saw it as ridiculous.

I have flaws, i have glasses, I'm not skinny. So why would they post on social media that you should be happy with your insecurities while offline is much different......

Just letting it out there.

I never heard about this challenge but I agree, it's really dumb! It's not a challenge [wait yes it is perfection doesn't exist]...It's bullying in my opinion. I have lots of flaws, inside and out! Though I don't think of my glasses as a flaw...

A challenge is for someone to be public about their insecurity. It's a challenge because many people are scared of what people will think of them.

Haven't heard of this challenge, but saying something on a public forum and dealing with it in real life are not the same, and are glasses an insecurity?

According to society it is an insecurity. And it's more both social media and real life i guess. ;__; I guess i was wondering what people have thought about the challenge.

After I posted a comment on YouTube, I had like about 200 likes in a single day and people agreeing in the comments, but then there's the ones who try to defend the viners who did the challenge, lol. Going all the way to calling me ugly and my Google+ pic isn't even my face, lol. They just assumed because I spoke up about how stupid the "challenge" is. Those people amuse me in a way.

I'v never heard of this challenge, but it sounds stupid.

Monkey: The challenge is supposed to make people feel better, right? So it's kinda ironic someone who supports the challenge called you ugly.

Bassy: Be proud to wear glasses! Glasses wearers can do/experiences stuff non-glasses people can't.

p.s. I wear glasses too if you couldn't tell from that^w^

Thank God for glasses is all I can say...one of the best, most useful inventions of all times...I don't wear mine all the time and sometimes I am glad I can't see everything pinpoint clear.

That's what it's supposed to be, but people do it to make people who don't look like them feel bad and are just making fun of them.

This challenge is stupid. I mean, do you really need to have a special "challenge" to not judge people? Shouldn't you already be non-judgemental about people's appearances?

I had to look this up on knowyourmeme. haha
I had seen some videos a while ago, where women were brought in and asked to describe themselves while a man did a sketch of their faces based on their descriptions. The women would put themselves down (saying with lots of negativity things like I have a huge round nose, uneven skin, fat cheeks, etc) and the artist put together pieces that the women thought were really beautiful. Not because they looked different, but sort of a "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" idea. We are our harshest critics, etc.
From the title of the thread, I thought that was this...
But that's totally different.
I see how people think adding clown makeup or scribbling on your face and then doing your makeup properly involves not judging?
I'd much rather see people's plain faces and then how different they are after they put makeup on! That's a always a trip!
Or there was one mini video fad a few months ago where girls would start by taking video at their worst angle (typically neck pushed down and back so their features looked warped, camera below) and then moved to their best angle. That was interesting to watch because it takes some skill and determination to find your best angle, and some willpower to show yourself at your worst without outside manipulation of makeup/splicing video!

Is this the challenge where people stand out in the middle of a crowded place in their underwear while holding markers in their hands for people to take and draw hearts on them? If not I find that equally ridiculous. I'm all about the body positive moment, but I think there are better ways of showing that.

No, it's where people put like marker and stuff on their face, make a video of "transformation" from ugly to pretty. They like give themselves unibrows, unrealistic acne and othe blemishes, put glasses on, and some of them even stick pieces of tissues on their face and smear cream all over their face. You can find compilations of them on youtube.
