As a person who teaches Social Studies, rural comes up way too often for comfort. :cry:

My kids have a really hard time with "specifically" it comes out as "pacifically".

last year, I had a kid that could not figure out the word vegetarian. It always came out as virgin. That was special.

It was one of those things that I will never understand. The unit before that, we were talking about organisms and I was so afraid of the obvious other word that might come from that, but it never happened. Instead, 2 weeks later, it was vegetarian vs. virgin. *sighs*

sometimes when you are trying to be so careful NOT to say something that is when you mess up. I would think the Teacher probably was so embarrassed!
