Take a look at Gizzie's pictures of her hanging upside down garden. I'll try to find where they are posted. She grows them on her balcony!

I have a little tomato plant coming up now, I planted the seeds from those little tomato's. My watermelon did not come up. I don't do well with growing melons.

I don't think I have ever eaten bittergourds...are they food or for like making bird houses or bathing sponges?

not bitter gourd, the bathing sponges are from sponge gourd when they're overripe and get dried still hanging on the garden.. and
bitter gourd is used in salad or appetitzers and usual viands...its awful bitter taste but there's a trick to make it slightly bitter into enjoyable bitterness XD .. one of the trick is NOT to keep stirring the pot when you cook it, adding it last to the ingredients or only add the gourd when the whole thing boils... also to ALWAYS AVOID combining anything sour/vinegar or tomatoes with it coz it multiplies the bitter taste XD like super bad haha...but the salad is a different thing, you gotta put salt on the thinly sliced bittergourd and gotta wring it or crumple it together with salt many times when they seems like looking ugly and dehydrated.. they can be washed and used for appetizer with pineapple tidbits, cooked corn kernels and raisins with seasoned in salt and some spice.

I haven't seen gizzies garden hehe..if you can share, I wanna see it^^

there is an easy way to eat it..thinly sliced it and then pour whisked eggs as if making scrambled egg^^.. same rules.. not to over stir to avoid the bitter taste^^
