I'm not sure about everyone else, but i'm extremely hyped right now for the new up and coming persona 5 but I want to know, what is your favorite game and who is your favorite character from which game. This is also just a general discussion for persona in general so if you know what the persona is, I encourage you to join us and discuss

Hi~

So far, I've only played Persona 3 Portable since it was the only game I managed to get my hands on. Both the copy of the game and the console >.<

As for my fave character ... it would probably be Akihiko ... and Ken ^_^

i've played persona 3 :3
my favorite character was aigis
i have a figure of her and cosplayed her at anime expo in 2014

i played it on the ps2 initially (years ago), then tried it out for psp this summer
i tried the female character but wasn't a fan LOL
then i accidentally wiped my save so that was the end of that
(i was going for a perfect run so i had invested a lot of time..)

last summer i started playing the original persona, but eventually the random encounter rate got to me LOL

i really enjoy collecting all the demon cards and fusing personas though (i think it was done better in the first game, you have to contact the demons and persuade them to give you their card instead of just being randomly awarded it)

5 looks cool though

I played P3P, P4G, an P5
I actually have never finished any of the games tho. I mean don't get me wrong, I love them. But I need to finish my games in a short time frame so that it won't be so alien to me when I continue playing it again.
And I can never seem to do that with persona cause it takes damn long.

I tried playing the first Persona game too but the first person dungeon perspective made me want to hurl so I stopped. also hated the fact that a kid there with a japanese name had "Brown" as a nickname. Totally did not make sense man.

My favorite charas in each of the games I played are Dorkihiko, Kanji, and Yusuke.
So far, Yusuke is my all time favorite chara. Man, he's one of the few characters in games that really made me laugh so much. I love Yusuke!

Overall, P5 is definitely the most enjoyable so far. P3P may have the otome game thing going on but P5 is definitely the pinnacle of the series

This seems like a really interesting series. I have not played any myself, but I will try to at some point.
My husband and I just got that Playstation thing where you can play all the games for x amount every month for a subscription. It is handy for playing games we do not own. I need to check to see if there are any Person games on there. If only it had a search feature...

I've only played Shin Megami Tensei, the first game, and couldn't get into it.
Which Persona game would be good to start with?

Persona 5 is probably the pinnacle of the series gameplay-wise.

Depends on your tastes though. If you want some otome game thing going on, Persona 3 Portable is good for that. But 3's and 4's main dungeons can get pretty boring so there's that to consider

Persona 5 sounds like the one I should check out. Gameplay is one of the biggest things I look for in games.
I have to work my way through my backlog though first.

On another note, Persona is a turn-based RPG so there's that to consider. I'm not sure if you're a fan of that genre.

I still haven't finished the game though. Not because it's bad or anything but I can't fit games in my schedule properly.

I'm a fan of turn-based, I suck at action orientated combat. I've been considering Persona for that reason.

It was a lot easier to play video games when I was school aged. Not a lot of responsibilities at that age.

You're like me then.
I super suck at action-based games. Heck, even FFXV took some time getting used to for me and that's a pretty simple hack-and-slash game.

...I was never proud of my hand-eye coordination lol

And yeah. persona in particular is a bit more difficult to fit into my schedule because it's the sort of game where you'd feel like you have to sit through playing for at least a couple of hours at a time if you're in a dungeon.
