Settlers of Catan

Players assume the roles of settlers, each attempting to build and develop holdings while trading and acquiring resources. Players are rewarded points as their settlements grow; the first to reach a set number of points, typically 10, is the winner.

Has anyone ever played this game? It can be VERY addicting once you've learned how to play. I first played it while hanging out with my sister, future BIL and his friends. I haven't played it recently and I miss it. It's a game best played with 4+ players over some delicious snacks or comfort food (like tacos).

Yay, I'm glad someone has! I feel like it was one of those underground games for a while before it gained some attention. And even now it's not a family classic lol. But I definitely find it to be interesting and fun.

I've never played with the extensions, I don't own the game myself.

Oh! That's cool. I bet there are a lot of different versions (> w<)

It's actually on the top games lists, especially board games for people getting into them.
I've played it at my parent's. I want them to bring over a game Saturday for us to play.

I don't own the game myself - just played it with a few people who do have it.

By the picture, it looks very similar to Sid Meyer's Civilization 5.
