-sigh- that's too bad. Maybe look up local flea markets? Though it may end up being way more work and cost going to all those to not find anything.

Probably partly explains why they are so expensive then.

Well, bjd-s are a result of an artists long path to polishing their skills as sculptors. So.. Yes.

yes! they do look like sculptured art. Well, art is definitely a collectible and something to be treasured. In that prospective I can see them being priced higher.<sigh> still more than I can afford

If I hadn't been technically fired I'd prolly have most of the Disney trip saved for and still have money for a BJD

Gathering up the money is the main problem. Especially when there are other responsibilities that come first.

Thanks Ryvvi~ I already changed it to something more seasonal, but I will most likely return to the look after the holidays.

And for dolly news, I've got a dear friend visiting from far far away (many countries apart) and she's working on one of my dolls faces! This is the first layer. The end will be amazing I'm sure!

wow! that is looking very lovely! Soft, sweet features. I thought at first it was a mask you had for yourself to wear! (but then I realized there were cotton swabs in the background and read your post)./

Do they make human size masks like that?

The face-up is close to done now, I just need to go get some gloss for the lips and other details. Photos when she's complete~ Edit: I chipped her lip while putting her away from the sunlight.... OTL

I don't know where people make masks like these for humans, but I bet there are some out there.

My friend who made it gave me some pointers for how to possibly save it. I don't have the exact same pastels though, so it will be a challenge. ^^;
