I never heard of it, I'll have to search it. I like to do the occasional sewing and I have enjoyed the cooking shows so thanks for the suggestion!

I always loved how the contestants were nice to each other and helping each other out. (Unlike all those talent shows in German reality TV, where everyone is just bitching about everyone else. Sure, I get they're rivals and all, but does it hurt so much to acknowledge when another person did really well? )

I like watching the kid cooking shows where they are competing against each other but take time to help one another out, they are awesome kids.

As for sewing itself, I've done a few minor things in school, then completely forgot about it for years, and just recently got back into sewing. So far I have redesigned a simple store bought shirt by modifying the sleeves and adding sturdy black straps and D rings, and I also made a big drawstring bag for my wool from scratch. Next project will probably be a plushie from Choly Knight's free pattern section.

Those look like cute designs and some of them look simple enough.

Fft I never did show off Tsuruhime in this thread lol
Oh well
Here's hoping the dress I ordered doesn't turn out to be flimsier than tissue (long delivery time says it's from out of the country, prolly China), and that it's soon enough that I'm not rushing to make the pinafore like I did mom's hat

Halfway decent means, polyester but not of the super cheap plastic feeling kind?

It's not made to fall apart after one wear
Idk the material
It also isn't hilariously iridescent, unlike the dress mom rush ordered for an event

I've found that repairing things are a great way to learn how things are constructed. It's really helpful knowledge when you start your own creations! :)

I have a friend that buys clothes from the thrift store and redesigns them! She actually sells them online and makes some money from it.

I find the floor a great place for laying out the patterns, put some large cardboard down underneath if you use a cutter.

If you can't find material in the local fabric shops you can also get them online.

You will have to post pics of your final products! Do you have a mannequin to use? The body forms aren't all that expensive (just take up room).
