well, there you go.... it shows! But seriously, I know a couple people that sell the clothes they make (human size) on etsy. One girl crochets bikinis another designs dresses or modifies ones she has found at garage sales.

That is beautiful! You are very talented!

I know that craftsmanship is all in the details, and with clothing it's difficult to see details from wide pictures, but from the fit and shape it's easy to tell you are very good.

How much was sewn by machine and by hand?

Thank you! The fabric was both perfect and a nightmare! It didn't let pins and needles through at all!
I sewed most by machine. Only attached the bodice lining to the waistline by hand and then the beads. :)

I might say screw it about waiting for a dress and use scraps that I have for something makeshift until I get proper clothes
Hmm
$435, compared to the nearly $600 I was looking at
...and that's half my savings. Crap

woooooaaaa that is WAY more money than I could afford...have to say, even though the resale value is good, I'd just stick with the regular dolls. Hey, making clothes for Barbie and porcelain dolls is fun too...it's still designing...

Maybe check out garage sales? - someone may be cleaning out their kids stuff and not realize what the value is...I've seen it happen that people just want to get rid of the "junk". I have a friend who goes looking for deals and sometimes finds them.

I have heard abot people finding bjd-s in goodwill too! Too bad there is no such chances here. There may be up to 10 doll owners in the whole country. And I only know one who has a DA and I'm not even sure they are active.
