Mine still kinda is lmao. Invested in a bad-ass tablet laptop with integrated Wacom drivers and a pen. You know, one of those bendy ones. Guess how many times I've used the drawing feature of it. Instead, I'm sticking to my ancient and not fully functional Chinese Wacom rip-off.

Does the stylus have batteries inside? I had one like that... it *almost* made the extra cost of a genuine Wacom worth it. Wacoms do go on sale once in a while and I grabbed one when it did. No, I take that back--my first was a factory refurbished one (came with a warranty--so really no risk--they work or they don't).

It doesn't... BUT MY WACOM ONE FOR THE LAPTOP DOES. From what I know, Wacom has put a patent on non-rechargeable pens, and thus any other brand needs to be charged. I don't particularly mind that as my Ugee stylus needs 30 mins of charging once in three months. And I normally have it charged right from my laptop as I draw.

Both my first Wacom and my current laptop originate from a post-soviet country, where digital art isn't as...Spread. Especially during the time I got my Wacom Bamboo. I remember we had an IT exam 2 years later where there was a question about what a digital tablet is, and I was the only person to know it was a pen-to-screen device thingie. Damn, I'm old.

That is correct, Wacom has the patent. Kind of sad as it gives them a monopoly on a very useful feature, but I understand the innovation/reward equation.

I don't like Wacom anymore. It's too sensitive for me now that my hand is used to a different brand. I occasionally swap to my old Bamboo when I travel as it's smol and more bag-friendly.
