... americanized all the sauce bases basically taste the same, not much distinction...where in actual asian dishes you get different and stronger flavors depending on what dish you order.

I like the rich colors over neon anytime.

I know what Lemon means. Unless you go to a big city, they try and homogenize the sauce flavors to 4 or 5 (sweet and sour, oyster, black bean, chili, hoisin). It's a lot of work to cook with so many different variations in a smaller establishment with not much call for flavors outside the most common standards.

I guess I'm a stickler too for traditional coloring. Neons have their place if they're part of the design and not just a grab or attention.

That said, THANK YOU so much for the dresses, Shiro! I love them! <3

The dresses are gorgeous, thanks Shiro!

I don't care for neon colors either, too bright for my sensitive eyes. xp

Peanut sauce became really popular years ago (It was like 12 years ago >.>; I'm old)
It still seems fairly common in my area. I know the Asian restaurants I've ordered from carries it. There are a lot of Chinese takeout places though and the quality varies greatly. A lot can be run of the mill, generic Americanized, same ole' basic menu.

I do like the peanut sauce...for pad thai noodles, or as a dip for spring rolls or even as a dressing for a tossed green salad. I've never tried to make it myself though and haven't found one in the grocery stores that I particularily favor.

We made chicken and noodles with peanut sauce the other night for dinner. It was really nice!
And quite easy to make

Cool! I like peanut sauce as long as it's not overkill.

Why is it the restaurant ones always seem to taste better then the ones you buy in the store?

they probably mix it with a bunch of other stuff, i haven't found sesame sauce that's for noodles in a store ever
maybe its a combination of sesame oil and other sauces
it's kind of like how you gotta put together a bunch of herbs and oil or sauce to make salad dressing taste good ^^
