yeah i had to vvear a short bright red dress to my grandfather's funeral... vvith sparkles on it.. because it vvas all i had that fit at the time and the funeral vvas very short notice.. and i vvas turning 12 that day so my mom vvanted me to vvear something not so depressing since it vvas my birthday.. eheh..

I feel like grandparents want to see their grandbabies happy and precious.
The one that passed away was my husband's gran. And she used to say "those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter."
I had to keep that in mind the whole time during the ceremony because I'm the only white person in the immediate family(married in). I had to process in and sit up front and everything. I had a lot of weird looks because I didn't look like I belonged and the people that just knew her in passing and not her family didn't know about me. I even had a little situation in the bathroom where some ladies were like "Are you even a *insert last name*?" Yes.. Yes i am.
I am so glad I did go though. My husband needed me and so did my in-laws.

Wow! Those people sound rude Mousy! I get that a lot. My mom is white (,blonde hair and green eyes too) and my brother and I are mixed (part black) and people would always ask if we were adopted

It's not any of their business, so why are they asking if you're adopted or not. -_-
My husband is black. Sometimes we'll get dirty looks, but most people are very accepting. And interracial couples are becoming way more common in my area.

Yeah my mom got dirty looks when people found out my brother and I are part black. And my husband got weird looks when people found out his mom was white and his dad was Hispanic.

I've dated people of different enthic backgrounds before, right novv my boyfriend is vvhite , but alvvays tan and has brovvn eyes and dark hair, so people think our daughter isn't his because she's pale like me, light eyes and light hair :T

My husband is dark, really, really dark and I'm brown hair, green eyes, and really pale. I'm so afraid that when I do have kids, everyone is just going to think I adopted them. Uhmm no. I made these. acknowledge that I made these. There is absolutely nothing wrong with adoption, but if I made 'em, I want you to know that I made 'em. xD

When people are rude about interracial-ness, I just want to tell them to go marry their first cousin. >.>
