Yep, I had to work today, but have off tomorrow and Friday.

I had to work today, get Thursday off and work Friday - but it looks like I will have saturday off ! Ahhh, the calm before the storm... (the Christmas storm that is)

Yep, Christmas time will be crazy. Everyone gets crazy around the holiday times. I noticed a crazy person yesterday at work. -shakes head-

but, I have to say, people tend to get a more upbeat, giving, positive attitude over here during the Christmas season

Yeah, I would love getting more tips at my job, then I get use it to pay for gas or any other bills.

sadly you can work just as hard but get better/lesser tips depending on the bill total. So someone working at say a Denny's makes less tip money then someone working at a higher priced dinner place - but I think you'd work harder at the Denny's.... My coworkers son makes at least $100 a night in tips because it is a higher priced restaurant and I don't think he makes any tip money at the burger place... although the burger place offers med and vacation pay and a 401 after he has been there a certain amount of time.

dragoness, are you able to work at a place that gives you medical benefits at all?

No, right now I work at a Subway, so we don't even get very much in tips a day. Maybe a dollar or two each day we work? -shrugs- It is still very helpful getting the tips though. We have no kinds of benefits besides getting a free 6 inch sub, salad, or flatizza plus chips, drink, and cookie each day we work. I do like getting the free food.

Dragoness: You bring up a good point, I don't normally think to tip at subway, or other fast food places because I don't picture it as an extra service but now i will think of it as people needing an extra "boost" to their income. I'm glad you at least get some free food. Do you have to share the tips with the other workers or can individuals be given a tip just for them at subway?
