Monkey's Kitchen

Postby MonkeyGirl18 » Tue Oct 31, 2017 12:42 pm

Because I want to share all my cooking/baking creations.

I have discovered my love of cooking and baking. So, now my dream is to own my own restaurant for I also long to manage something, to actually be a leader of some sort.

So, why not share my creations here?

I can share the recipes i used if you are interested. And I can tell you how to do something that I had done in the list.

Mostly, I'm still learning.

I have a few cupcake pics to share so far.

It might not get the most use at the beginning, but when i move out on my own, i plan to make a lot of my own meals. Then I'd share more.

They're the guinea pigs of my cooking. But I'll try to remember to take pics.

They had to suffer dry cupcakes already. This time they actually get to have some of the good cupcakes.

I'll get pics posted sometime today.

Some of my customers do catering and they choose which type of catering jobs they want to do. It seems less of a constant hassle to do events then maintain an actual restaurant. Maybe you can hook up with someone who has a catering business and see how that goes.

Perhaps. I didn't think to look into catering.

Chocolate cupcakes:

So my first batch, the trial batch, i did it exactly by the recipe. It ended up very dry. :distress:

When getting the ingredients for the second batch,I realized I didn't put enough butter in the first batch, but idk how it effects the cupcakes.

Batch number 2, i had added 1 new ingredient..... PUDDING! Pudding helps make the cupcakes moist. It turned out PERFECTLY! I had taken orange icing and mixed it with marshmallow creme and warmed it up for 30 secs to soften it up.... it was used as a center creme filling. For the icing, i used buttercream. I tried one and it was delicious!

Sorry about the bad pictures for the last 2. I thought when I took them, I got all the cupcake then ate it.

It was 1am. You gotta forgive me.

I was looking up recipes for a creme filling. Betty Crocker said to mix marshmallow creme and betty crocker icing because betty crocker.... I just took that idea and used a different icing. But it was too thick to insert into the middle and 30 seconds in the microwave gave it the consistency I was looking for.

You can tell how dry the first batch is by comparing the 2 batches.

And the second batch, after it was done baking, felt really squishy (toothpick test came out clean, so they were baked all the way through) so I got afraid they wouldn't hold up. But they surprised me and they did.

The first batch took 15 minutes to bake and the second one took 20 minutes.

just the instant pudding mix you get. One small box for a batch of 12.

Ooooh, in the middle.

The pudding mix is mixed into the batter. The stuff in the middle is a mixture of icing and marshmallow fluff and the top icing is buttercream.
