That should no longer be Pokemon's slogan, because they don't have the national dex anymore

What's a national dex?

Basically there's usually two Pokedex's, the regional Dex, which only records Pokemon that are in that region, and the national Dex, which records every Pokemon. But in Sword and Shield, you can no longer get Pokemon that aren't already in the region. Meaning they cut a lot of Pokemon out, so you can no longer trade for them, and there is no national Dex as a result. The popular saying among fans was #BringBackTheNationalDex, because that would mean ALL Pokemon would be available. Sadly, Game Freak and Nintendo didn't listen and so you can no longer catch them all.

Oooh I've heard about that. Before, you could bring some pokemon from previous games into a new game, too, right? I only ever played Sapphire and never got the urge play another game of the brand, so I am not really affected by this. But I can see how it would enrage fans of the franchise.

Yeah, you could bring any Pokemon from any game into any other game as long as they were trade compatible or you used Pokemon Bank. But now that's not the case. Yeah, a lot of people were angry, myself included. But the worst part was, that the reasons they gave were not good, or were complete bs. Like, they said they wanted to make better battle animations, but they didn't.
