I actually bred up a golden chocobo in the original, without realizing I could use it to get that Knights of the Round materia. >^<;;

You can do up to 100k damage with one attack by mastering Knights of the Round! Totally worth it.

One of my friends got the remake, but I haven't really watched them play. All I can say about the game is that it's pretty haha. Tbh, the only FF game I've played is 14.
