Npixelz, it won't all of a sudden appear and disappear so just take a look at the night sky next week and you should see it.

There are sky map apps you can get for your phone that tell you which stars are in the sky above you and where you can find them.

I saw it tonight! The two planets are still separate but close, it was low on the horizon probably about 6:00 ish

You can see the two planets as they get closer together and on Dec 21 they are supposed to look "as one".

I hope the sky is clear tonight. I want to see them getting close. It's Yule on 21st so I wonder why it's not called the Yule or Solstice Star.

They are supposed to be closest on the winter solstice, which is Dec 21. The article I read called it a Christmas star so I went with that...don't know if any other articles are calling it something different?

I tried to take a picture tonight but I shake too badly so will try with a tripod tomorrow. If I get a picture I'll post it... but my camera is good for something big like the moon, not very good with stars or other planets.
