So...I saw on the news the actor Elijah Woods went to visit a fan's animal crossing island ...how does that happen? Do you have to request it or can anyone randomly travel to your house?

Through dodo code, usually! If you send someone your dodo code they can visit your island If they are already your friend and you open your gates as well!
