It was so fun! Since I volunteered for multiple shifts this weekend, I was given a free pass that allowed me to walk around during my breaks and at the end of my shifts. My position was to work with the Mario game voice actors, and I was assigned to work with the voice actress of
Toad and Princess Peach. I helped handle her autograph signings and photos with fans. She's such a nice person, and I loved spending the weekend chatting with/ getting to know her. Watching her interact with fans and seeing the little kids light up upon meeting her was so inspiring.
I told her that I'm an artist, so she gave me some encouraging words and asked to see my art. I showed her a comic that I recently made for the local newspaper, and she liked it so much that I gifted her a physical copy. ;u; She also gave me an autograph, and the volunteer Lead allowed me to keep her guest sign as a souvenir since I worked with her all weekend. I want to get them framed eventually!
Lastly, my friends and I were able to meet/ get pictures with the voice actors of Mario, Rosalina, Bowser, and Princess Peach at the end of the con. (My friends volunteered this weekend, too, but were stationed in different areas). I didn't want the weekend to end, but we're volunteering at another convention in December, so I'm looking forward to that! =w=
