2018 Winter Olympics

Anyone planning on watching the 2018 Winter Olympic's?

Got any favorites? Are you patriotic or just enjoy watching good athlete's?

..."organizers are providing any ticketed person attending the ceremony with a windbreaker, lap blanket, knit cap, heated seat cushion and hand and feet warmers. They will also set up wind screens to block brisk breezes, as well as heated rest areas. " (nice souvenir's?)

This will certainly be an Olympic game that men's US figure skating Nathan Chen will not forget! It was such a cute video of him as a kid saying he wanted to be at the 2018 Olympics, maybe all the media following his every move ( even to the bathroom door) threw him off! Seriously! The athlete's need to concentrate!!

I learned there are some countries I have never heard of before! And that there are many countries who do not have representatives at the Olympics.

Curious: how is it you can represent a country when it isn't your birth country, or if you weren't raised there?

Unfortunately, in some of those smaller countries all it takes is money. Citizenship is a mere formality and birth country doesn't seem to mater.

I really liked the ice Princess costumes worn by the girls carrying in the sculptured signs of each country before the athlete's during the opening ceremonies.

The traditional dancers were cool to watch in the ceremony and the drone's at the end - did they say 1200 of them? Were amazing!!

The drones were flown so perfectly that they looked like computer graphics!

The drones were crazy! There was a augmented reality which was kinda cool. Tech was definitely on display too. :)

I caught a couple of the men's figure skating but not the opening ceremonies.
I feel bad for those that fell.

They expend so much time, effort, finances, into getting to the place where they make it to the Olympics only to have one brief moment, one wrong placement, to whisk their chances all away, it is very disheartening to watch any of the athletes fall or crash. But for those that get back up and continue anyway - I give them a lot of credit.

On the other hand, an athlete could be not in contention for a medal, performance ability wise, but end up with one because of someone above them in standings error.

My mom is a big fan of winter olympics, she likes it more than the regular ones.
She complained to me about ice skaters using 'despacito' ehehehe.

Did you catch the cross country skier who was tripped and then went from last to first! 30 Km !! He must have been travelling so fast, I wonder if they timed him?

I watched it. It was crazy! I think he won because the others got tired/slowed down and he didn't rather the he drummed up some extraordinary speed.

Now the long distance speed skaters dig up some crazy speed at the end!

I was at a restaurant today that played the ski jumping part of the olympics.
One guy lost his balance and did a face plant right before the end of the ramp D:
We watched his arm go out to catch himself, then get snapped back behind him, and he was holding his head as he tumbled to a stop on the ground... It did not look healthy at all.

Woah, probably the most feared Olympic accident. The agony of defeat...
