Koichiro Ito, the Japanese producer who contributed to some of the highest-grossing anime hits revered by fans worldwide, was arrested in Tokyo by Wakayama Prefectural Police this week. He's been accused of allegedly soliciting nude selfies from a 15-year-old girl

why are minors usually involved? change of subject - which anime/manga did y'all not give a chance in past years, and recently gave a chance to? Did you like it? Hate it?

For me that was Black Butler. While I couldn't fully get into it, it wasn't anywhere near as bad or annoying as my younger self thought it would be, haha.

I've yet to watch Black Butler, but it's definitely on my list. There's so many anime from back in the day that I didn't watch at the time but would like to watch now. I just need to make time for them. @-@

Gravitation is my favorite anime and surprisingly I've never watched the OVA. I just bought it at the discount bookstore today and I'm so happy. But, I don't have a DVD player so I'll have to watch it on Crunchyroll.

Although there are streaming services to watch anime on, something about having physical DVDs brings me joy. It really takes me back to being younger and excitedly collecting DVDs. Same with manga. I don't like reading manga online, I'd prefer to have physical copies. It makes me feel more connected to my younger self.

Not an anime, but Dungeon Meshi was that for me a while. I asked a friend back then what it was like, and she told me I wouldn't like it. I trusted that and just read and watched other things instead. Fast forward a few years later, I picked up Dungeon Meshi again out of curiosity - she never actually answered what it was about - and I liked it for the monster food recipe gimmicks, even before it got into a more epic and intricate plot lol

Code Geass was another one - I assumed it was mecha-centric, and mecha just generally wasn't my cup of tea. Well. Turns out the mechas are just a small part of it.

It is now! But that happened while it was only an ongoing manga.
