Never heard the word denatured before. Even without the pineapple, I hope the gelatin thing tastes delicious

I think pineapple has an enzyme or something that prevents gelatin from setting.

It breaks down protein? Maybe?

Canned pineapple sets better...raw pineapple does something weird to my mouth so I can't eat much of it...pineapple can be a meat tenderizer...I like pineapple upside down cake and I like the pineapple fillings in the Asian pastries too.

I've not had pineapple for so long. Pineapple jam is lovely but I can only it a small amount of it at a time.

You should try one when you can, npixelz. If you like baking, they're an easy cake to bake.

i know you've probably heard of pineapple cakes/pastry from taiwan, but did you know they also sell these big ones at older bakeries for gifting people?

they usually have a lot more winter melon to substitute with the pineapple to be less sour and more sweet, plus it makes them cheaper! some of them sell for like 30-50 hkd haha
they weigh about 0.5 kg lol
